Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth rankedSanta Tecla and one of their biggest challengers Brujos had identical 2-1 record. This time Santa Tecla used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Izalco 77-63 on Thursday night. Santa Tecla looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of Eliezer Sanchez who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Edwin Cornejo (195-1999) who added 14 points and 10 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side American forward Samuel Cota (193) responded with a double-double by scoring 14 points, 17 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import guard Brent Kelly (185-2000, college: Nichols) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Santa Tecla (3-1) moved-up to third place, which they share with San Salvador. Loser Brujos dropped to the fifth position with two games lost.
